Dear Friends,

Colorado and the United States are at a tipping point. We can choose to continue down our current path of increasing deficits and Government control, or we can reverse course and embrace the freedom that made this country great. Our citizens understand that simple common sense is often times lacking in our State and Nation’s capitals. We need to return to the common sense government that our founding fathers envisioned over 200 years ago.

With the support of my family and friends, especially my amazing wife Courtney, I am campaigning to be the next State Representative for Colorado House District 34. It is an honor that so many people would support me for this important office and I promise to work hard to meet as many voters as possible during this campaign and earn your votes.

A little about my variety of experiences:

My father was a residential contractor and I grew up learning about the building trades. At the age of 15, I managed a drywall finishing crew. At 16, I ran a lawn care business. During my college years, I worked 30 – 40 hours a week at fast food restaurants, at the Office of Campus Recreation, and at service stations. During the summers, I framed houses.

After I received my degree in construction management, I managed multi-million dollar construction projects. When I moved to Colorado in 1988, I opened Paradise Rock Gym in Adams County. I employed many young people, hosted world class rock climbing competitions, developed nationally recognized youth sports programs, and set the standard for climbing gyms across the country.

In 1998, I opened a floor installation service. I then purchased a vending business which provided jobs and supported the Kempe Foundation.

If that was not enough, I also worked as a skydiving professional for several years before becoming a swimming and endurance sports coach.

As you can tell, I have abroad array of experience, from laborer to manager from business owner to coach. I’ve owned businesses that succeeded and businesses that failed. This variety of experience and results has given me perspective on the challenges we all face and the rewards of hard work. And I picked up some common sense along the way.

So you may be asking.... what is my passion? Well, we face challenges today at all levels of Government. I feel Government is taking too much control of our lives and making it more difficult for us and our children to succeed. I want to help get us back on track. That is why I have decided to run for State Representative.

My basic principles are:

I trust citizens, not bureaucrats, to know what is best for themselves and their families.

I believe that the best government is one that is held accountable. Without accountability, there is no responsibility and no improvement.

I understand the key to long term growth in Colorado exists in establishing economic freedom and creating more jobs. This requires common sense.

I appreciate you taking the time to visit my website and I look forward to earning your support in November 2010,

Sincerely,

Brian Vande Krol
